Thomas Cummings has been a family nurse practitioner in various healthcare settings for the past 16 years. He noticed the need for mental healthcare in the community, and returned to school, soon to be board-certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. He is seeing clients at CoHear/BCS under direct supervision, as he navigates the therapeutic approaches.
With his background as a family nurse practitioner, Thomas offers an integrated approach of physical healthcare management and psychotherapy to adults. Thomas will work with you towards clear goals to achieve mental wellness. He will recommend medications if they are helpful, but they are only one tool towards your healing.
PLEASE NOTE: at this time, we can discuss medications academically, however Thomas is not currently prescribing medications until his board certification.
Thomas will work collaboratively with his clients, coming up with a mutually agreed-upon treatment plan and direction for therapy.
Thomas is married to his wife of 15 years (who is also a licensed mental health counselor) and has four children. In his spare time, he enjoys his passion for history, hunting, hiking and Brazilian jujitsu.
