David is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate. He approaches counseling from a holistic perspective, acknowledging and listening to the biological, social, psychological and spiritual parts of your life; meaning he will pay attention to the intersection of not only to your thoughts, emotions and behaviors, but also to your relationships, your physical well-being and more. Â Additionally, David is interested in your experiences and stories. He finds it is often in these stories, told to us and by us, that we find meaning and purpose. Unfortunately, not all these stories are desirable. David believes understanding the context of your life and situations are crucial in working towards creative solutions.
In his work he draws upon the ideas of narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, attachment theory, solution focused therapy, and others. David is also trained in Lifespan Integration- a gentle-mind body approach used to help people dealing with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, overwhelming life experiences, and more.
David’s hope is that with the assistance of a warm, empathetic and open environment you can feel known, accepted and begin to experience relief from the problems affecting your life. He considers it an honor to bear witness to your life.
Outside of counseling, David enjoys spending time with his spouse and daughter, cooking, and cheering on the University of Washington Huskies.
