Debbie Runke, MS, LMFTA

Debbie’s previous career was as an information technology director in a multi-national Fortune 1000 company. It was there that she discovered a passion for working with adults who were struggling with life’s difficulties. After two and half decades in that field, she switched careers to pursue that interest more fully. Today, she is a Washington State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate.

Today, her work is informed by attachment and systems thinking, and she brings a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach into her work with individuals, couples, and groups. Trained as a narrative therapist, Debbie also draws on cognitive behavior therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, positive psychology, and polyvagal theory. She uses EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy with trauma survivors, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy in her work with couples, including those affected by trauma, relational betrayal, or addiction. Debbie is an Employee Assistance Program provider, and delivers Psychological First Aid sessions to employees in organizations following critical incidents of unexpected death or workplace violence.

An east coast transplant, Debbie enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the Pacific Northwest (especially with a camera), reading, using genealogy tools to tell our stories, and a good cup of coffee.
